Genesis
The Department of Biomedical Science was established in the year 2018 to provide young people with employment opportunities. This was done because the department realized how important it was to expose young minds to the various disciplines of biomedical science and related professions at an early age. Therefore, the main focus of the Biomedical Science programme is preparing students and research scholars for jobs in public health, academia, government, and the biopharmaceutical industry, as well as research and development. The department offers an M.Sc. programme in Biomedical Science and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science. The goal of this curriculum is to develop the competence of the students in Biomedical Science.

Eligibility
A two-year regular master’s programme offered by the Department of Biomedical Science. This program has 23 courses with a total of 90 credits. Selection is on a merit basis based on the qualifying Degree Examinations.
The department is offering a direct Ph.D. in Biomedical science. The selection is through university norms (Entrance Test and Personal Interview)

- Physically Challenged candidates are exempted from the payment of Tuition fee and Special Fee.
- Only Tuition fee is exempted for SC/ST Candidates and all other fees to be remitted by them.
- Students belonging to Adi-Dravidar and Tribal Community and Adi-Dravidar students converted to Christianity are exempted from Tuition Fee as per Tamil Nadu Govt. vide GO No.13724/SC&ST/2014-1, dated. 9.2.2015.
- Foreign Students: Double the Tuition fee plus other fee as applicable.
- Fees can also be paid semester-wise. In such cases, the candidates have to pay as per the following guidelines.
Separate Hostel facilities (Boarding & Lodging) are available for male and female candidates. Those who need Hostel accommodation may approach the Wardens of the respective Hostels by producing their admission fee receipts. Lodging fee payable to the Hostel is Rs.16,000/- per annum. Boarding charges for every month will be collected under Dividing System. For further details about the Hostel, visit University website.
